I remember making olive tapenade with her mom once and wanted a food processor henceforth. I remember pancakes in the morning after a sleepover and hushed conversations about love, faith and family. Our first meal together was four summers ago at the infamous Bertucci’s in Nashua, NH, on the day we first met. I’d never been to New Hampshire before and had to travel alone after an airline system failure left my partner stranded in Chicago. So, I braved the flight solo and took a bus from the airport to Nashua, where she met me at the bus station. Over a pizza and an arugula salad, I shared parts of my life with her openly, much the way I do now, without fear of being judged. She’s someone who can make you feel like anything you do, everything you are, is extraordinary.
